NEGROS ORIENTAL STATE U ACQUIRES FIRST AIRCRAFT

/ 23 February 2021

THE NEGROS Oriental State University has acquired its first aircraft, a Cessna 150 with extra six cylinder horizontally opposed engine.

The aircraft will be used by the university’s Aviation Department for the hands-on training of its students.

Aviation Program Chairman Jose Guiuan II said the aircraft will help Aviation students develop basic flying skills.

Having an aircraft is one of the basic requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines for the university to attain an Approved Training Organization Certificate.

NORSU purchased the aircraft from Hytec Power Incorporated in Quezon City.

It is temporarily at the College of Industrial Technology Open Court while the department is processing the request for a 200-square-meter space at the Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport.
