/ 24 December 2022

THE PHILIPPINE Robotics National Team from Narvacan National Central High School in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur won eight gold and silver medals in the World Robot Games 2022.

The event was conducted in Thailand last December 9 to 11.

Team members Jhenny Carta, Joana de Leon, Algine Mendoza and Ysrael Caneso bagged four gold medals while Sofia Dominique Cabellon, Precious Rafanan, Klyde Joshuel Langiden and Justin Sambaan won four silver medals for the Incredible Machine Team Category.

“Bringing home gold and silver medals doesn’t signify the finish line. We are hoping that this extraordinary feat will spark budding robotics athletes’ curiosity and willingness to continue what we have started and soon represent our country in various competitions,” coach Cylde Cardenas said.

“May this win also establish a foundation for robotics to be included in the education curriculum and inspire learners not just to win but to help build a more sustainable future through innovations,” he added.

The competition aims to build students’ interest in robotics while testing control boards from Thailand.
