MSU-IIT SOON TO HAVE MICROELECTRONIC LAB

/ 19 October 2023

THE Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology partnered with the Philippine Linked and United Solutions, Inc. to establish a microelectronic laboratory and training center on campus.

A memorandum of agreement was signed by key officials of MSU-IIT and PLUS earlier this month

The partnership will pave the way for the setting up of a specialized PLUS Microelectronic IC Design Laboratory and Training Center that aims to produce professionals to support and sustain the microelectronics industry in Mindanao.

“This pioneering lab, made possible through funding from our industry partner, will be the first of its kind at MSU-IIT. This signifies our strong commitment to fostering a robust academia-industry partnership,” MSU-IIT Chancellor Alizedney Ditucalan said.

“We are thrilled to have them as our partner in this new venture,” he added.

President Hideki Takamatsu of PLUS expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration.

“Let’s take advantage of our partnership by working together to develop technologies that will take a lead in the semiconductor industry in the future and to develop advanced semiconductor human resources,” Takamatsu said.

The partnership also positioned PLUS as a significant industry partner of MSU-IIT in microelectronics research and other related undertakings, aligning with the goals of the Center for Integrated Circuits and Devices Research project led by Prof. Jefferson Hora of the College of Engineering.
