THE Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology on the holding of a comprehensive training program on cyberspace safety.
The five-day event was attended by 40 government employees from Region X and Lanao del Norte.
The collaboration aimed “to establish a safer digital environment ensuring that individuals are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of our rapidly evolving digital world.”
Asst. Prof. Jerame Beloy, a faculty member of the Department of Information Technology, showcased her expertise at the Cybersecurity Competency Framework workshop.
Participants discussed topics such as Legal Framework of Cybersecurity, Practice Standards of Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Cybersecurity Incident Management and Security Operation Center.
“This initiative not only empowered participants to evaluate security threats, but also equipped them with the skills necessary to formulate effective security guidelines, manage security incidents, and devise practical security solutions,” the school said.
“The program fostered an environment conducive to holistic learning and skills development by encouraging active engagement and collaboration,” it added.
The training sessions provided a platform for attendees to apply their newfound knowledge and practical skills resulting in the creation of outputs aligned with the Cybersecurity Competency Framework.
