MSU-IIT EYES PARTNERSHIP WITH 2 AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLS

/ 12 October 2023

TO ADVANCE its education and research programs, the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology is set to partner with the University of Adelaide and Curtin University in Australia.

Key officials of the universities met last week to find ways to combine research efforts in relation to the Research Excellence Program in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education.

Prior to the visit to the two universities, Chancellor Alizedney Ditucalan and Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise Gaudencio Petalcorin, Jr. attended the 2023 Times Higher Education World Academic Summit at the University of Sydney last month.

Ditucalan joined academic leaders from all over the world in the summit’s Presidents’ Forum organized by THE and The University of Sydney.

The forum was a pre-summit event where presidents and chancellors of invited universities shared their views on important issues such as freedom of speech, historical legacies, and challenges in partnering with industry, community, and government.

“It was an exciting opportunity to engage in conversations among university leaders, something that has not been done before at a World Academic Summit event. The theme of the discussion, ‘University leadership in an age of distrust’, was thought-provoking and highly relevant,” said Ditucalan in his Facebook post.

The university said that the chancellor plans to strengthen the ties with the two universities to empower students and promote academic and research excellence on an international scale.
