/ 23 February 2022

THE MINDANAO State University-General Santos welcomed the first batch of medical students who will soon enter the university’s College of Medicine.

In a ceremony on Sunday, university officials welcomed the 20 faculty members, 16 lecturers, 2 speakers and 5 administrative staff who will guide the 53 pioneering students of the college.

“My challenge to the College of Medicine is to create your brand – have a brand that may not be seen from other Universities. A brand of excellence and discipline. I am very happy to all the students, particularly from the BARMM, and that the management is very supportive of you entering the program,” MSU GenSan OIC- Chancellor JD Usman D. Argasi said.

“To the pioneering batch, I challenge you to become the next board topnotchers because Gensan is the home of the champions and I can say that the College of Medicine will excel because you are the champions,” she added.

Dr. Edwin Alconcel, COM dean, also welcomed the students and their parents and presented the college’s mission, vision, and goals.

The university launched the college on January 31, 2022.
