MMSU SHS STUDENT APPOINTED AS JUNIOR GOVERNOR OF ILOCOS NORTE
A STUDENT of the Mariano Marcos State University-Laboratory High School was named as the Junior Governor of Ilocos Norte.
Grade 12 student Josh Rafael Fagaragan took his oath earlier this week at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall.
“I will join the community outreach programs of the provincial government, and encourage the Ilokano youth to participate in government projects,” MMSU quoted Fagaragan as saying.
Fagaragaran was tasked to execute policies for the youth sector and to serve as the youth representative in the provincial government.
He will also lead other appointed junior officials from various schools in the province after successfully completing a screening process overseen by members of the local government.
The SIRIB LiNKS Junior Officials program has been running for 5 years as part of the celebration of “Linggo ng Kabataan.”
This initiative aims to select young leaders to engage in legislative writing and parliamentary process, thereby acquainting them with the responsibilities of public servants.
