THE MARIANO Marcos State University again forged a partnership agreement with Philippine Science High School Ilocos Campus for a three-year Science Immersion Program.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by UPV MMSU President Shirley Agrupis and PSHS-IRC Director Ronalee Orteza last week.

Both schools entered into a one-year agreement for the same program last year.

MMSU said SIP is a required course where PSHS students can learn science, engineering and research laboratory skills and concepts in a host institution.

Under the agreement, PSHS-IRC will select and send their SIP participants to MMSU where they will be exposed to actual scientific research projects for 2-3 weeks or a minimum of 80 hours.

Orteza thanked MMSU for the partnership and expressed hope that PSHS students will gain enhanced scientific skills through their internship at the university.

Agrupis gave assurances that MMSU will always support the PSHS in producing high-caliber science and technology graduates in the Ilocos region.
