MMSU PROF TOPS NAT’L RESEARCH POSTER TILT
A MARIANO Marcos State University professor copped first place in the recently concluded national research poster competition.
Professor Mae Rose Abad of the Department of Biological Sciences was recognized for her research titled ‘Consumer awareness and perception on low glycemic index rice in highly urbanized cities in the Philippines’.
The study determined how consumers are aware of and how they perceive the low glycemic index rice through a baseline survey in 10 HUCs.
“Prof. Abad serves as the proponent and project leader of said project funded by the Department of Science and Technology during her stint at the Philippine Rice Research Institute-Batac Branch,” the university said.
“Other implementers of the research study are Teodora Mananghaya, Ria Yate, Rheumel Kheem Albano, and Janet Polipo, all PhilRice personnel,” it added.
The competition was sponsored by the Crop Science Society of the Philippines.
Abad, meanwhile, expressed her gratitude to the organizers and spectators for recognizing their research study through their poster.
CSSP is a national scientific organization composed of scientists, researchers, and members of the academe.
