MARINDUQUE STATE COLLEGE PUSHES ELEMENTARY LITERACY
THE MARINDUQUE State College signed a pact with the Department of Education and Institute of Education to advance literacy among elementary students.
MSC President Dr. Diosdado Zulueta signed a Memorandum of Agreement with officials from DepEd, including Superintendent of the Schools Division, Dr. Elsie T. Barrios on Monday.
Dubbed “Galing-Basa Para sa Tagumpay na Balik Aral,” the program aims to help students with remediate classes.
It will be extended to cover high school students who have difficulty in subjects like Math, Science, English and Araling Panlipunan.
The program is based on the Brigada Pagbasa-Teachers Undertaking of Learning.
The World Bank has reported that the Philippines has a massive deficit in reading proficiency.
