MARINDUQUE STATE COLLEGE GETS FUNDING FOR SMART CAMPUS PROJECT

/ 3 June 2021

THE MARINDUQUE State College has secured funding for its Smart Campus project from the Commission on Higher Education.

CHED gave its approval after MSC presented its plan to install fiber network lines in four of its campuses.

The project was presented by Engr. Desiree T. Malalad, ICTSC director and project proponent, on May 22, 2021. MSC received CHED’s en banc confirmation on May 26, 2021.

“The project will essentially allow full readiness of all the campuses of MSC to subscribe to a Dedicated Leased Line internet, allow bandwidth distribution and its centralized management, provide means to access LMS and other teaching and learning materials, seamlessly conduct online activities, and provide easier and convenient access to institutional information systems,” MSC said on Facebook.

“The proponent briefly explained the impact of the project saying that ‘Essentially, everything follows when you can connect. After all, what leads to a Smart Campus is connectivity,'” it added.

MSC added that the project will benefit its students, faculty and employees of the college and other residents of Marinduque.
