MARIANO MARCOS STATE U TO OFFER VETMED PROGRAM
THE MARIANO Marcos State University will open its Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program starting Academic Year 2022-2023.
The program will involve diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and control of animal diseases of terrestrial and aquatic animals.
The university said that it opened the program in response to the country’s increasing need for veterinarians.
It added that animal diseases are emerging and re-emerging in the region because of the “very small number of licensed veterinarians in Ilocos Norte.”
Prospective applicants must be senior high school graduates preferably from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strand and have at least 85 percent general weighted average and admission score of at least 90.
Applicants will have to undergo an interview to determine if they are qualified for the program.
