MARIANO MARCOS STATE U HOSTS 10 INDONESIAN STUDENTS
THE Mariano Marcos State University is hosting 10 students from three universities in Indonesia for their teaching internship program.
The students from Mulawarman University, Universitas Islam Indonesia and Yola Kartika Susma of University of Jami were invited under the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia project.
They started their internship at the MMSU Laboratory Schools in Laoag earlier this month.
The foreign students will take teaching practicum and observations at the elementary and junior high school levels for one month.
“The beauty of internationalization is we can both learn something from one another,” MMSU President Shirley Argupis said.
The university has so far accommodated 49 foreign students in eight batches through the program.
The program of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization provides an opportunity for foreign students to have teaching experiences in other schools within the Southeast Asian region.
