MARIANO MARCOS STATE U CLOSE TO ACHIEVING HERD IMMUNITY VS COVID19
THE MARIANO Marcos State University is close to achieving herd immunity against the coronavirus disease, officials said.
The MMSU said that 13,917 students and employees have received their Covid19 jabs. Of this number, 658 are employees, 698 are personnel, and 12,561 are students.
“The students’ rate stands at 92.69%, while the personnel’s rate at a towering 98.05%,” the university said in a statement.
“Majority of this number received their vaccine shots through the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center Vaccination Center at MMSU, while others had their jabs in their respective local government units,” it added.
MMSU President Dr. Shirley Agrupis said that the figures highlight “MMSU’s preparedness for next semester’s limited face-to-face classes.”
The Commission on Higher Education allowed the conduct of limited face-to-face laboratory classes for Nursing and Physical Therapy students and in-person Lab classes and internship for the College of Medicine.
Last month, the CHED in Ilocos Region launched its massive advocacy campaign for Covid19 vaccination.
The MMSU started giving jabs to its constituents in June this year through the “Resbakuna Campaign” of the government.
