/ 20 October 2021

THE AURORA Quezon Elementary School in Malate, Manila is ready to conduct limited face-to-face classes once it gets approval from the Department of Education.

Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso along with Division of City Schools Superintendent Dr. Magdalena Lim and Armand Andres of the Department of Engineering and Public Works, affirmed the school’s readiness during an ocular inspection on Tuesday.

“Sa mga nanay at tatay ng mga Batang Maynila, naggagayak na ang inyong Division of City Schools thru Dr. Magdalena Lim at ang inyong pamahalaang lungsod,” Domagoso said.

“Naglagay na tayo ng acrylic barriers para pumanatag kayo na pagbalik ng mga anak ninyo may mga ginawa na ang pamahalaan para maingatan sila. So kapit lang,” he added.

Lim said that the city government also asked for the inclusion of Maximino Hizon Elementary School in Tondo, Padre Burgos Elementary School and Pio del Pilar Elementary School in Sta. Mesa, Ramon Avanceña High School in Quiapo, and Ignacio Villamor Senior High School in Sta. Ana in the pilot implementation of limited physical classes.

So far, DepEd said only 30 public schools will hold limited in-person classes starting November 15.

Education Assistant Secretary Malcom Garma explained that the number of participating schools in the pilot run will still increase until it reaches the maximum of 100 allowed schools.
