MALABON CITY SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL SHINES IN HONG KONG SCIENCE TILT

MALABON City National Science and Mathematics High School (MalMaSci) has brought pride to the city after delivering a record-breaking performance in the 2025 Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) Heat Round.

Students from Grades 7 to 12, together with their teachers and coaches, clinched a total of 161 awards, including 88 gold, 35 silver, and 31 bronze medals, marking one of the strongest showings by a Philippine public science high school in the international competition.

Education officials and school leaders said the achievement reflects the students’ excellence in science and mathematics, as well as their discipline, perseverance, and strong mentoring from teachers.

The impressive medal haul underscores MalMaSci’s growing reputation for academic rigor and competitive training in STEM fields.

The school community hailed the victory as a testament to the dedication of Malabueño learners and educators, noting that the achievement continues to inspire younger students to pursue excellence in science and mathematics.

“MalMaSci continues to rise and inspire,” school officials said, extending congratulations to the award-winning students and their mentors for elevating Malabon City on the international academic stage.

The Hong Kong International Science Olympiad is an annual competition that brings together young science and mathematics talents from various countries, serving as a platform to test problem-solving skills and scientific aptitude at the international level.
