LSPU EYEING TO TRAIN 600 SK BOOKKEEPERS IN LAGUNA

/ 12 January 2024

THE Laguna State Polytechnic University is in talks with the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Laguna to potentially train bookkeepers among its SK treasurers in the province.

This came about after Provincial SK Federation President and former Board Member of Laguna Bhenj Stephen Aningalan Felismino held a dialogue with LSPU officials to help them comply with the standards of the Department of the Interior and Local Government on appointing its treasurers and secretaries.

Felismino is pertaining to the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2023-167, which mandates appointed SK treasurers to undergo mandatory bookkeeping training that is certified by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

LSPU President Dr. Mario Briones said the school must involve all of its campuses to simultaneously train more than 600 SK treasurers in the province.

Alongside Briones is LSPU College of Business Administration and Accountancy Associate Dean Dr. Desiree Wagan, who suggested to tailor fit the trainings to those with background in finance and to those without.

A dialogue was held at the Conference Hall of LSPU-San Pablo last January 9, where the proposals that were concluded during the meeting will be later consulted to the Youth Development Affairs and other agencies.
