LA UNION STUDENTS TOP INTERNATIONAL DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP
TWO students representing Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-South La Union Campus won in the International Debate Championship recently which Van Lang University of Vietnam organized.
Fourth year students Chrisna Carpio and Justin Rafael Tangog, taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Social Studies, topped the competition.
In the final round, competing teams debated on the topic “This house believes that international support must be a priority instead of domestic resources.”
The event was anchored on the concept of Sustainable Development Goals chartered by the United Nations, while adhering to the British Parliamentary Format.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica ‘Rafy’ Ortega-David congratulated the debaters for their recent achievement
“As they advance to the summer school in Vietnam, let us altogether wish them luck and may they continue to inspire our fellow Kaprobinsiaan,” La Union Provincial Government said in a post.
