THE VISAYAS State University has unveiled a new delicacy – Kamote or Sweet Potato Ice Cream which is set to be launched this year.

VSU said that the new delicacy is a product of its Sweet Potato Processing Center which was constructed two years ago.

The university hopes that the new product will attract tourists and investors.

The sweet potato ice cream has different flavors—cheesy macapuno, jackfruit, mint chocolate, double dutch, and coffee-choco swirl. These are now available at Baybay City’s Pasalubong Center located in Barangay Cogon.

Other science-based root crop products are also set to be released and may soon be commercialized by the university.
