‘KAAGAPAY UP’ SEEKS SUPPORT FOR ‘ISKO’ NG BAYAN
UNIVERSITY of the Philippines-Baguio is asking donations for the remote learning needs of financially challenged students of the school.
The UP System recently launched the ‘Kaagapay sa Pag-aaral ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan Fundraising and Resource Generation Campaign’ or ‘Kaagapay UP’ to get support from all sectors and enable the Iskolar ng Bayan to move forward and ultimately reach their goal of graduating.
As the program’s name indicates, the UP community is asking everyone to be its ‘kaagapay’.
Around 5,600 students cannot afford remote learning as per a recent survey of the UP system.
Students who cannot afford the technology and tools that have now become integral to learning are in danger of not being able to continue their education.
Furthermore, the survey indicated that around 1,600 of them have no resources at all.
Additionally, for at least 4,000 more, sustained use of technologies is no longer feasible as Covid19 pandemic has rendered their households financially vulnerable.
Donations in cash and in kind, one-time or regular, are welcome.
Likewise, technological equipment such as pre-owned or brand new laptops and computers, with the minimum specifications, may be sent to the UP Baguio Residence Hall.
Monetary gifts in cash, check, or electronic funds, through over-the-counter or digital transactions may be deposited to the UP College Baguio (UPCB) Educational Foundation bank account with BPI Baguio Burnham Branch: account name UPCB Educational Foundation Inc, account number 0560-0126-24.
Donations may also be coursed through the UP System using secured payment gateways via kaagapay.up.edu.ph.
