AN ONLINE movement sparked by the killing of a student gained traction online, questioning gun protocols in the country.

Amierkhan Pulalon Mangacop was shot dead outside a bar in Davao City by Dr. Marvin Rey Andrew R. Pepino, a personnel of the Police Regional Office -Davao.

Mangacop was in the bar to fetch his cousin  when he got caught in the melee that cost his life.

“They were not drinking, and definitely were not high on drugs. On the contrary; [Dr. Pepino]… brought a gun and was drinking in a public place,” the Justice for Amier Mangacop said in a statement on Facebook.

The call for justice has more than 31,000 reactions, 1,900 comments, and 24,000 shares as of Tuesday.

The PRO Davao said that Pepino is facing criminal and administrative charges.
