THE Iloilo Science and Technology University held an investiture ceremony for its second president, Dr. Gabriel Salistre, Jr. last week.

The university said on its website that Salistre became the second university president on August 5, 2023, and was given an investiture ceremony last Friday (January 19, 2024) at the ISAT-U Multi-purpose Educational Center.

During the ceremony, Salistre witnessed events such as his appointment as university president, the presentation and donning of the academic regalia, the presentation and turn-over of the university mace, and the signing of the oath of office, ISAT-U said on its website.

Salistre succeeded Dr. Raul Muyong for the position.

CHED Chairman Prof. Prospero De Vera III also attended the ceremony and wished the university good luck under the leadership of Salistre.

“I am optimistic that with your administration, ISAT will further develop globally competitive students and curricula. CHED will be at your back to ensure the advancement in the institution’s quality of education. Let us work together, to make ISAT U a leading science and technology university in Asia and the world,” De Vera wrote on his Facebook page.
