ISABELA STATE U INAUGURATES CROCODILE CONSERVATION CENTER
THE ISABELA State University opened a crocodile conservation facility to help in the wildlife conservation efforts in the province.
The Philippine Crocodile Conservation Center was inaugurated at ISU’s San Mariano Campus. The facility is open to the public.
The center is a product of the agreement among ISU, the local government of San Mariano and the Mabuwaya Inc. The project also got the support of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Tourism.
ISU President Ricmar Aquino said that the establishment of the PCCC commemorates and exemplifies their passion and commitment to nature and wildlife species.
Fr. Ryan Torralba led the blessing. In his homily, he reminded everyone that caring for nature and its inhabitants is one of man’s most important obligations.
Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Dean Anthony Domalanta, who represented Mayor Edgar Go, led the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon with Aquino.
Also present during the event were Mabuwaya Inc. Chief Executive Officer Merlijn Van Weerd, Mabuwaya Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Myrna Cureg, DENR Development Management Officer Enrique Pasion, Department of Transportation Operation Officer Leila Blancaflor and ISU- San Mariano ampus Administrator Dr. Clarinda Galiza.
