IFUGAO STATE U RECEIVES GRANT FOR R&D PROJECT
THE IFUGAO State University announced securing a funding to develop a Philippine Signature Muscovy Duck Breed.
It said the research and development project titled ‘Development of Philippine Signature Muscovy Duck Breed’ was approved by the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources.
The project has a funding of P9,887,251.00.
“Aiming to develop a Philippine Signature Muscovy Duck Breed, the project will specifically develop breeding and selection protocol, develop sustainable breeding, production, and distribution systems, establish phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, and evaluate production performance and sensory characteristics of products,” IFSU said on Facebook Friday.
The project will be implemented for four years from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2025.
IFSU Director of Research and Development, Dr. Elpidio B. Basilio Jr., will serve as project head for the university.
The university will work hand-in-hand with the Bureau of Animal Industry which also received funding from the DOST– PCAARR.
