IFUGAO STATE U HOLDS TRAINING ON INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE WRITING
TO PROTECT Ifugao heritage and to create reference materials for research studies, the Ifugao State University held a training session on Indigenous Writing for residents of Hungduan, Ifugao.
The studies will help address the needs in the implementation of the Mother-Tongue-Based Multilingual Education curriculum, the university said.
It will serve as the foundation as there are no written records on the different indigenous literature of the place.
Dubbed as the “Effective Writing for the Professions: A Writeshop for Cultural Workers and Creative Writers,” the participants were taught to write in their homegrown language.
It was participated by teachers from the Department of Education’s Ifugao Division, cultural workers, students and college instructors at the IFSU Hapao Campus.
The two-day training led by University of Hawaii professor Dr. Aurelio S. Acgaoili tackled good and practical writing techniques for professional development for cultural workers and the academe.
