IFUGAO STATE U HELPS BOOST PANDEMIC RECOVERY
THE IFUGAO State University launched a project to help people cope with the effects of the Covid19 pandemic.
Dubbed as the “GAD-IFSU Values Education or GIVE: Helping Women and Girls, Men and Boys Face the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic,” the project will be implemented until December 2022.
It is led by the Gender and Development Research and Resource Center.
GADRRC Director Joyce A. Bodah said that project GIVE will focus on reducing the sources of stress like job loss, increased unpaid work, health risk, domestic violence and abuse.
She added that strengthening the core skills of identified groups is one of the first priorities, especially for students.
The next priority is strengthening the psychological-physiological-spiritual well-being of the parents and students through reading sessions.
Seminars about teenage pregnancy, how it can be curbed and its effects to young girls will also be discussed, as well as interventions to support teen moms through the creation of a teen pregnancy center.
