IFSU TIES UP WITH DEPED ON IFUGAO CULTURAL PRESERVATION EFFORTS
THE IFUGAO State University signed a pact with the Department of Education to preserve and instill in the youth the rich cultural heritage of Ifugao.
The two institutions will collaborate on the distribution and usage of two books dedicated to Ifugao culture.
These are the INABOL: Traditional and Contemporary Ifugao Textile, and the Ifugao Indigenous Knowledge System and Practices.
“These books were written by IFSU academics who lived and experienced these IKSPs,” the university said.
“Dr. Serafin Ngohayon, the primary author, pledged that the books will be distributed to 296 Public and Private Elementary and High Schools in the Province for free,” it added.
Officials from IFSU and DepED Ifugao met on Friday for the signing of the memorandum of agreement at the Dep-Ed Ifugao Division Office.
