IFSU ESTABLISHES ARBORETUM OF INDIGENOUS TREE SPECIES

/ 4 September 2021

THE IFUGAO State University established an Arboretum of Indigenous Tree Species at its Hapao Campus as part of the celebration of its 100 years in service.

IFSU said that at least 100 tree species were planted and added to the botanical garden.

“The establishment of the arboretum is part of a series of programs to develop IFSU Hapao Campus as a center for Indigenous Studies,” the university said.

IFSU’s Campus Executive Director said that the arboretum is part of its program to transform schools into green learning spaces.

He added that planting trees is one generation’s obligation for the next generation.

Earlier this year, the campus launched an Indigenous Peoples Resource Conservation and Community Learning Center.
