iACADEMY STUDENTS BAG AWARDS
STUDENTS of iACADEMY School of Business and Liberal Arts placed second in the Best Marketing Students of the Year in the Agora Marketing Competition- Brilliance Still Shines at the 41st Agora Youth Awards.
BS Marketing Management majors Geoffrey Allen T. Tan, Kurt Symoun E. Boquiren, Nina Jean S. Comanda, Jullian Denise H. Febrar, Nicolas Gabriel C. Villapando and Sean Ethan Sebastian D.G. Valdez grabbed the recognition after presenting a comprehensive and well- thought case studies on marketing. They were supervised and guided by Joenil Cofreros, program chair of the Marketing Management program of iACADEMY’s School of Business and Liberal Arts.
“My first taste of group competitions was in my first year when my amazing team and I won 9th place for a marketing competition nationwide. This event taught me that you can never do it alone in marketing, and collaboration is the number one key to success,” Tan said.
“When we entered Agora, I thought I was lucky to have this case study centered around a marketing agency just as I was having my internship in one. The multiple interviews we received from people in marketing agencies expressed great emphasis on their team’s principles of communication and we just applied it to our plan,” he said.
“My team all had our individual strengths but once our ideas came together, we all clicked like clockwork. This revolved around the ideas the industry needed today. If we can change the game through Agora, I’m positive we can be game changers in the real world,” he added.
Organized by the Philippine Marketing Association, the AGORA Youth Awards recognizes the best marketing students for the school year, offering the country’s future marketers the chance to show their ability to apply knowledge and theory to actual business cases.
