IACADEMY LISTS ACHIEVEMENTS OF VISION CREATIVE UNIT
MAKATI-BASED school iACADEMY proudly listed the achievements of its Vision Creative Unit this year in hopes of inspiring more students to unlock their creative potential and push boundaries, innovate, and create impactful art.
The school said its Vision Creative Unit mentors its students by exposing them to renowned filmmakers, artists, and animators. The experience prepares them to create original concepts and stories for local and international competitions. It also gives them groundwork to execute their ideas.
“Art is about communicating ideas and that only happens with a community. VISION is helping build this community of creators in iACADEMY by giving them the space to devote intense focus on their original concepts, with many able to make their dream projects come true. By providing direct interaction with industry professionals and mentorship, mentees can incubate their ideas and realize them, helping inspire the next group of imaginative young minds, thus continuing this positive cycle of creativity,” Keith Sicat, iACADEMY ViSION creative director, said.
As testament to the excellent programs its Vision unit provides, the school shared that Renzel Lanuza’s captivating comic “Love Is…” reached the semifinals of New York City’s Negative Space Comics Pitch Competition. Meanwhile, Zoe Panganiban’s enchanting fantasy tale “As Above, So Below” earned her a finalist spot in the same competition.
Also, Lee Moreno and Alma Ramos secured a finals spot in the Negative Space Comics Student’s Comic Book Writing Competition with their collaboration “Gonerdog.” Ramos also emerged as a finalist in the international Negative Space Comics Student’s Comic Book Writing Competition also for “Gonerdog.” The entry also made it to the PICOF Creator’s Lab at the Philippine International Comics Festival.
Meanwhile, Triz Santiago displayed her talent at the PICOF Creator’s Lab and published three comics on PENLAB.
In terms of animation, Danica Sy’s animated short film “Wishes” received an honorable mention when it became a finalist in the Animation Category of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ GAWAD Alternatibo.
JC Roma, on the other hand, achieved dual recognition at Cinemalaya after securing a finals spot for “Circle of Life” in the Experimental Category and “Ibayo” in the Documentary Category.
iACADEMY said that its Vision Creative Unit symbolizes collaboration, exploration, and growth, offering students a platform to immerse themselves in a nurturing creative environment.
“Creativity knows no bounds, and at iACADEMY, we provide the canvas for students to paint their unique stories of success. Our Vision Creative Unit not only celebrates achievements but also cultivates a culture where ideas thrive and artistic dreams become reality,” Raquel Wong, iCADEMY COO, said.
