TEN universities from the Philippines inked a pact with Lingnan University in Hongkong for academic collaboration.

LU said the partnership is for building collaborative platforms for academics, social innovators, and small business owners to help them with stability and financial sustainability.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by representatives of the participating schools led by LU Vice President Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho on Thursday.

“Collaborating under the MoU, participating universities will join hands to help small business owners develop innovative business solutions that improve livelihood and resilience. Independent farmers, fishermen, and local retailers will learn and practice the IB framework with the support of university staff and students,” Ka-ho said as posted on LU’s website.

“In return, university members will gain invaluable learning and research opportunities that continue to benefit social innovators in other Asian countries. We are certain this agreement will create win-win cooperation and strengthen the strategic partnership between Hong Kong and the Philippines,” it added.

The participating higher educational institutions include University of Southeastern Philippines, Batangas State University, among others.

The MoU will run for a period of two years from 2023 to 2025.
