HOLY ANGEL U STUDENTS APPEAL FOR COMPASSION

/ 13 January 2021

STUDENTS groups from Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga again appealed for compassion and leniency as they urged school officials to accept promissory notes.

The school’s University Student Council sent another letter asking the school to allow the use of promissory notes in the second semester of Academic Year 2020-2021 provided that at least 50 percent of the first semester dues have been settled.

“The USC has appealed to the administration to reconsider students’ pleas, particularly in extending enrollment schedule and the usage of promissory notes to ease the financial burden of the parents and students in enrolling for the second semester,” the group said.

It also called on the university to release a comprehensive breakdown of laboratory fees, waive unnecessary fees and publicize its allocations for transparency.

“The administration is being asked to conduct an open dialogue or consultation with all the stakeholders to discuss matters regarding the proposed physical laboratory classes to ensure the partnership between parties in the pursuit of the common interest,” it added.

The group said the university should consider their demands to ensure that no student will be left behind.

“It is in this light where the HAU-USC invokes your commitment to reconsider our appeals and reflect not only the life of Christ, but also a life of compassion, and inclusivity, especially to student and parents who can no longer afford quality education due to the economic unrest brought by the Covid19 pandemic,” the group said.

The POST tried but failed to get a statement from the university.
