HOLY ANGEL U MOURNS PASSING OF DR. LUIS MARIA CALINGO

THE HOLY Angel University in Pampanga mourned the passing of Dr. Luis Maria R. Calingo, the university’s ninth president.

Calingo died on Friday, October 1. He was 66.

He was known for championing the student’s and employee’s welfare.

“The HAU administration, faculty, employees, students and alumni express their sincerest condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Dr. Calingo and join everyone in praying for the eternal repose of his soul,” the university wrote on Facebook.

Calingo served as an Asian Productivity Organization’s principal consultant to the Philippines and other Asian governments.

In 2015, he won the Juran Medal which is considered the gold standard for quality management in the Philippines.

He also served as the president of Woodbury University in Southern California for three years.
