AN ALUMNUS of the Holy Angel University in Angeles, Pampanga was named as one of the Huwarang Mag-aaral ng Gitnang Luzon awardees.

Abelardo Cortez Jr. was recognized for his advocacy titled “Effective Integration of Technology into Filipino Classrooms and the Upgrading of Teacher Quality, especially in Technology.”

Cortez graduated Summa Cum Laude and bagged the 14th Angelite of the Year award.

He also initiated and served as the convenor of the first-ever Regional Convention of Teacher Education Students of Central Luzon.

This year, The Outstanding Students of the Philippines – Region 3 Alumni Community of Heroes searched for role models who, despite the demands and pressures of higher education, remote learning and the Covid19 pandemic, “endeavor to serve their country and people.”

The award giving body also considered those whose service to the school, community and nation spring from a genuine desire and passion “to make a difference in the lives of many with every day great examples of heroism.”
