HALF OF UST STUDENT POPULATION VACCINATED VS COVID19
THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas said that more than 50 percent of its student population have been fully vaccinated against Covid19.
A report by the school’s publication The Varsitarian said that 25,696 out of 46,543 or 55.21 percent of students have been given jabs, while 2,448 or 5.26 have yet to receive their second dose.
“We are encouraging everyone sa vaccination kasi it’s another layer of protection. It’s very important para magkaroon tayo ng herd immunity within the University,” Dr. Sheryl Dionisio, director of UST’s Health Service, said.
Dionisio added that 1,979 of the university’s 2,636 teachers have been fully vaccinated.
The UST official noted that the school tracks the vaccination of learners and educators through the Thomasian Online Medical Services and Support website.
Earlier, the Inter-Agency Task Force Against Covid19 approved Resolution 148-G that allows universities and colleges to resume onsite learning in areas below Alert Level 3.
Only vaccinated students, teachers and support staff are allowed to participate in in-person classes.
