FEU STUDENTS SEEK SUSPENSION OF ONLINE CLASSES
STUDENT groups in the Far Eastern University asked school officials to suspend the submission of academic requirements for the duration of the enhanced community quarantine.
The FEU Central Student Council along with the Institute Student Councils said online classes should stop.
“This is in consideration of the sudden enforcement of Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila and four nearby provinces that would affect both students and faculty,” FEU-CSO said in a letter addressed to Dr. Maria Teresa Trinidad Pio, university senior vice president.
The provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan were also placed on the strictest quarantine from March 29 to April 4, 2021.
“A significant number of FEU students and faculty members are staying in the NCR Plus where Covid19 active cases are rampant. Moreover, the said dates are part of the public holidays in the country when academic activities are usually called off,” the student councils said.
“We believe that this suspension would be beneficial to every member of our beloved community,” they added.
Palace Spokesman Harry Roque earlier said that online classes will continue in areas placed under ECQ.
