FEU PARTNERS WITH WADWAHANI FOUNDATION, KAINCON
THE INSTITUTE of Tourism and Hotel Management of the Far Eastern University has partnered with the Wadhwani Foundation for tourism and HRM students enrolled in entrepreneurship courses.
Through FEU-ITHM MICE Class Section 7, a memorandum of understanding was signed between officials of FEU and Wadhwani Foundation.
The ceremonial signing was spearheaded by the Regional Director for Southeast Asia of Wadhwani Foundation Lucrecio Delgado, ITHM Dean Dr. Harold Bueno, ITHM Associate Dean Chef John Lester Tuason, MICE Adviser Dr. John Malonzo and the Executive Committee of the MICE Class Section 7.
“This partnership will ignite the spirit of entrepreneurship to FEU ITHM students, to inspire them to aspire and practice entrepreneurship,” the school said.
“This partnership will also help accelerate academic innovation in groundbreaking tech domains of Artificial Intelligence in tourism and hospitality field. This partnership also aims to help in achieving Sustainable Development Goals #1, #2, #4, #8, #11, #12, and #17,” it added.
Meanwhile, FEU-ITHM through its MICE Class Section 8 recently also signed an agreement with the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement and Slow Food Youth Movement Philippines in hosting KainCon this year as part of the celebration of the National Food Month.
KainCon will take place from April 15 to 17 at the FEU Main Auditorium.
“This activity through Introduction to MICE aims to provide advanced and contemporary knowledge and skills in conducting special events in different sectors such as culture, heritage, hospitality, tourism, entertainment, sports and recreation, business, and leisure,” FEU said. “This upcoming event will also be an avenue for students to properly apply their learnings from the course.”
