FEU ALUMNUS WINS BEST ACTOR IN 2020 GAWAD SINING

/ 30 January 2021

AN ALUMNUS of the Far Eastern University bagged the best actor award at the 2020 Gawad Sining Short Film Festival for his performance in “Journey to Ultimate Jowa.”

Dylan Ray Talon, an Advertising graduate of the university, portrayed a hopeless romantic in pursuit of Mr. Right.

He was also nominated for the best actor award in another film, “Cut,” where he played the role of a depressed student filmmaker.

Both films dominated the roster of nominations with “Journey to Ultimate Jowa” receiving seven awards including Best Director, Best Editing and Best Music.

Meanwhile, “Cut” bagged the Best Screenplay award and received six other nominations.

In his interview with FEU Advocate, Talon explained the essence of playing non-binary roles.

He thanked the FEU Theater Guild and FEU Center for the Arts, saying he would not have achieved the awards without them.
