FB PAGE NG UP DILIMAN STUDENT NEWSPAPER ‘SINAG’ NA-HACK NG TROLLS?

/ 15 February 2021

BIGLANG nawala sa Facebook ang official page ng University of the Philippines College of Social Sciences and Philosophy Student Publication ‘SINAG’ matapos umanong atakihin ng trolls na nag-mass report para alisin ito sa social media platform.

Ayon kay SINAG editor in chief Enzo de Borja, ang FB page ay ‘severely hampered’ matapos i- mass report ng umano’y bayarang mga troll.

“We need your help to recover lost ground,” panawagan ng editor matapos gumawa ng bagong pahina.

Ibinalita rin ito ni Ara Lorico, isa sa mga mamamahayag ng nasabing peryodikong kampus.

“The Facebook page of SINAG, the official student publication of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), has been under sustained attack from paid online trolls as it continues releasing articles containing factual information and critical analysis. Facebook has since severely limited the publication’s distribution of posts due to the mass reporting of its articles and other tactics that hampered its reach on the web.”

“SINAG maintains that it did not violate any of Facebook’s Community Standards nor did it spread false and misleading information. For 53 years, SINAG has worked to uphold genuine, critical, and militant journalism. SINAG was part of the mosquito press movement during the Marcos regime, where the publication exposed the ills of the administration despite repression and intimidation from the government.”

Mensahe nila sa publiko, “Amid a pandemic, an economic recession, and a worsening climate of terror fostered by the de-facto martial rule of the Duterte regime, SINAG holds strong and firm. It will continue striving to counter the attacks of the state and continue its tradition of defending the truth and serving the people through its radical, assertive, and mass-oriented brand of journalism.”
