EASTERN SAMAR STATE U SETS UP OWN COMMUNITY PANTRY FOR EMPLOYEES
THE EASTERN Samar State University set up its own community pantry to help other employees get by amid the pandemic.
ESSU said on Friday the pantry was started by a faculty member from the College of Arts and Sciences in a bid to extend help to contractual employees.
“…the ESSU Family Pantry was (Mrs. Marcelle A. Badillo’s) personal initiative to extend help to ESSU Employees under Job Order (JO) Contracts by sparing them a day or two from daily essential expenses,” ESSU said on Facebook.
Badillo also thanked her fellow faculty members for their support for her initiative through sharing their goods for the pantry.
“Thanks to faculty members whose generosity (are) outpouring, enormous, unfailing, this would not have been possible without them at the sides of the line. WE OWE YOU BIG TIME!” Badillo said.
The said initiative was adopted through the efforts of Ana Patricia Non, the creator of the Maginhawa Community Pantry.
