PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte approved the conversion of the Basilan State College into a university.

The status change came about after the Chief Executive signed RA 11554 or the ‘An Act Converting Basilan State College into Basilan State University’.

BSC said the conversion of the college will help improve the quality of education in the province.

Following the approval, BSC will now be given state-of-the-art facilities to help it with its operations.

‘With that, the college is immensely grateful to the unfathomable support of our very own DEPUTY SPEAKER MUJIV S. HATAMAN. He has truly championed the dreams of every young Basileño to finally have a State University in the Province of Basilan that will curate the needs of everyone for an accessible and quality education with state-of-the-art facilities that will address the myriad call of the Imperatives of today’s educational system,’ BSC said.

“Congratulations, BaSCinians and Basileños! Our collective efforts have been paid off,” it added.
