DMMMSU ALUMNI DONATE TABLETS TO NEEDY STUDENTS

/ 5 January 2021

FIVE students from the College of Fisheries of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University will no longer have problems with online classes as they were the first recipients of tablets donated by the school’s alumni.

The project “Donasyon mo, Kinabukasan ko” is a joint initiative of the Office of Alumni Relations and the Campus Alumni Association to enable poor but deserving students to have a seamless online education.

The DMMMSU-College of Fisheries High School Batch 1981 donated the amount used to purchase the tablets.

Meanwhile, three senior high school students of the university also received tablets with load subsidy from the LHS alumni.

Monica Pumares, Jenly Marc Estoesta and Jeny Romero each received a Samsung Galaxy Tab T515 with a sim card and six-month load allowance.

The devices were donated by Elwood Avena, Emmie Avena, and Eric Avena in support of the SLUC Alumni Association’s project, “Donasyon Mo, Kinabukasan Ko.”

Emmie Avena personally turned over the gadgets to the students and their parents.

“The students will be using the tablets for their learning needs for the next grading period until they graduate from the high school next year. The devices will then be lent to the next batch of students who will need the devices for their online learning needs, as stated in the Memorandum of Agreement signed by the students,” the university said.
