DLSU TO START VACCINATING EMPLOYEES, STUDENTS NEXT WEEK
EMPLOYEES and students of the De La Salle University will receive their first jab of Covid19 vaccine next week.
Vice Chancellor for Administration Dr. Arnel Onesimo Uy said that the school’s vaccination drive will start on Monday, September 13, at the Makati Stock Exchange.
Those who registered for Moderna’s Covid19 vaccine will be given priority.
“Following the IATF’s guidelines on prioritization, the Moderna vaccine recipients who are included in the first batch are notified via email. We will use Moderna vaccines we ordered from the ICTSI-Foundation Consortium through the De La Salle Philippines,” Uy said.
Eligible employees will be vaccinated for free in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Labor and Employment.
Uy said that DLSU will similarly shoulder the full cost of the vaccine for scholar students, while non-scholars who may need financial assistance may apply through the Lasallian Students Welfare Program.
“We are continuously coordinating with other vaccine providers – Covovax (through Unilab) and Covaxin (through DistriPhil). Both companies advised us that the vaccine is scheduled to arrive in the 4th quarter 2021,” he added.
He called on the academic community to get jabs either in the university or in their local government units.
