DLSU TO OFFER FIRST JOINT MASTER’S PROGRAM ON IP MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION

/ 6 August 2022

THE DE LA SALLE University will offer the first Joint Master’s Degree Program on Intellectual Property Management and Innovation in the Asia-Pacific in anticipation of a burgeoning IP business.

The DLSU’s Intellectual Property Office and the Department of Commercial Law under the Ramon V. del Rosario College of Business in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines have been working with the World Intellectual Property Organization Academy to roll out the program in 2023.

“With increased IP filings activities, we see an incredible demand for IP professionals who can provide sound advice and assistance in strategically protecting and commercializing high-value IP assets,” Rowel Barba, IPOPHL director general, said.

“This Joint Master’s on IP Management and Innovation will fulfill that demand by honing globally competent IP practitioners with rigorous multidisciplinary training on law, science and business,” he added.

The MIPMI will be the first program in Asia and the first WIPO-supported postgraduate program to focus on managing IP assets and innovation toward successful commercialization.

The different subjects included in the program will be delivered by a roster of local and international experts in IP.

Immersive and applied learning methodologies will also be implemented to achieve effective learning for students.

The program will be open to Filipino and foreign students.
