A STUDENT from De La Salle University Manila emerged as first runner-up in the EY Young Tax Professional of the Year 2023 International Competition.

In December last year, Huang was selected as champion of the EY Global Delivery Services Young Tax Professional of the Year out of the more than 2,200 participants from India, Argentina, and the Philippines.
She was later chosen as one of the top 10 in January 2023, earning her spot in the London round.
“Last March 13, the top 10 finalists had 15 minutes for the presentation and Q&A with the EY leaders: Marna Ricker, Susan Pitter, Jennifer Wishnie, and Andrew Lapa,” DLSU said.
“Their presentation revolved around the idea of ‘how tax can contribute to advancing sustainable long-term value for the global economy and the global community,’” it added.
The final event was held in London from March 13 to 14.
Huang was mentored by Department of Accountancy faculty member Dr. Florence Tugas, who served as her coach.
