DLSU PROFS RECOGNIZED IN INT’L COMMUNICATION CONFERENCE
THREE professors from the De La Salle University were recognized for their research during the 73rd International Communication Association Conference held in Toronto, Canada last month.
They are Prof. Cheryll Soriano, Prof. Jason Cabañes, and Dr. Jan Bernadas, faculty members of DLSU’s Department of Communication.
Soriano and her co-authors won the ICA Outstanding Article of the Year Award for their piece “Open science, closed doors? Countering marginalization through an agenda for ethical, inclusive, research in communication.”

For his piece, “A transnational sensibility to media and postcolonial multiculturalism”, Cabañes received from the ICA Philosophy, Theory, and Critique Division a High Commendation for Decolonial Scholarship in Media and Communications.

Meanwhile, Bernadas and his co-author were celebrated as contributing authors during the ICA book launch of “The International Encyclopaedia of Health Communication”. Their chapter on “Development Communication.”
