DLSU INTEGRATED SCHOOL STUDENTS EMERGE CHAMPIONS IN PH ROBOTHON

/ 7 February 2024

STUDENTS of De La Salle University Integrated School emerged victorious in the 9th Philippine Robothon National Competition organized by the First Eduspec Inc.

Grade 8 learners George Aleksandr Chua, Samantha Mercado, Daniella Manio, and John Nathan Palmario were named champions in the Innovative Open Category for middle schoolers.

They were recognized for their project called “A.I.R.W.A.V.E Guard.”

The project, according to the students, is a low-cost, Arduino-based weather monitoring system capable of detecting air temperature and humidity, and even calculating the heat index.

Pamela Mae Cerrado and Morris Bana from the Integrated School’s STREAM & Robotics faculty mentored the group.

This year’s IOC competition looks for breakthrough robotics solutions for societal challenges.

Each team is expected to complete a research paper, produce a project video, and present a robot prototype based on their chosen themes.
