DLSU GRADUATE STUDENT WINS BEST ORAL PRESENTATION AWARD IN INT’L CONFERENCE

A GRADUATE student from De La Salle University bagged the Best Student Oral Presentation Award in the 4th International Water Association Regional Conference on Diffuse Pollution and Eutrophication held in Istanbul University.

Engr. Sergi Garbanzos was recognized for his research titled “Comparing the Outflow Reduction of LID Controls under a Centralized and Decentralized Scheme using SWMM” and “Determining the Optimal LID Combination through Hydrological Performance Modeling and Cost-Effectiveness Analysis.”

Garbanzos was mentored by Dr. Marla Maniquiz-Redillas.

Delegates from countries in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America attended the international conference organized by the International Water Association committee.

The conference aims to encourage research, create awareness and bring researchers and decision makers together to understand and solve environmental problems caused by diffuse or non-point sources of pollution.

It also aims to address a wide range of issues associated with urban and agricultural contamination of water, air, and soil resources along with the impact of climate change.
