DLSU-D SEEKS JUSTICE FOR SLAIN STUDENT
THE De La Salle University Dasmariñas sought justice for its student who was stabbed to death earlier this week.
DLSU-D pledged to work closely with the family of 24-year-old Queen Leanne Daguinsin and the authorities in investigating the crime.
“We turn to the God of mercy and justice and pray for strength as we work closely with family members and authorities in bringing justice to the senseless killing of one of our students,” the university said in a statement.
Daguisin, a 4th year BS Computer Science major, was found dead inside her dormitory in Barangay Santa Fe in Dasmariñas, Cavite last March 28.
She sustained 14 stab wounds. Police said there was no indication of rape and are looking at robbery as the motive for the crime.
DLSU-D said it will also increase police visibility inside its campus and nearby vicinities.
“We have been coordinating with the City of Dasmarinas to tighten security measures through heightened police visibility and we will collaborate with the LGU to conduct thorough inspections of dormitories located near the campus,” the university said.
“In the next few weeks, in coordination with the LGU, safety marshals from the school will be deployed off-campus in the vicinity of private dorms and other establishments frequented by students,” it added.
