THE DE LA SALLE University-Dasmariñas has joined making a Nature Positive Pledge for the University of Oxford, United Nations Environment Programme.

In a statement, DLSU-D said the move was another “show of commitment towards sustainability.”

The university will be among the 407 educational institutions across the globe in the launching of Nature Positive Universities Alliance.

NPUA, a global network of schools and universities, made an official pledge to work towards a global Nature Positive goal in order “to halt, prevent and reverse nature loss through addressing their own impacts and restoring ecosystems harmed by their activities.”

“Universities who have signed the Nature Positive Pledge and joined the Nature Positive Alliance commit to carrying out a baseline for their impacts, set smart targets for nature, carry out actions to meet sustainability targets, and share an annual report on their progress,” DLSU-D said.

“Through its various initiatives, DLSU-D has integrated sustainability and environmental actions in its curriculum, policies, and programs. The University also signed the UNEP’s SDG Accord in 2021,” it added.
